The Golden Circle with a twist (GULLFOSS & GEYSIR)

Things you will see and do:
Þingvellir national park, Geysir geothermal area, the waterfall Gullfoss and possibly a warm bath in one of the local springs.
The tour allows you to see and experience Iceland’s most unique and exciting nature.
The first stop is at Þingvellir national park, which is one of Iceland’s most significant historical sites and the place where Iceland’s first parliament was founded in the year 930 AD. From Þingvellir we head along mountain tracks toward the waterfall Gullfoss, a sight you will never forget and to some people one of the most magnificent waterfalls in Iceland. We also visit Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur valley, where you will see hot springs spouting. Strokkur ( Butter Churn) is very active. It may be smaller than the 70 to 80 metre high plume of steam that Great Geysir used to produce, but the 25 to 35 metre high eruption of steam is an amazing sight at only 4-5 minutes’ intervals.
Optional in wintertime!
On the way back to the city we will visit the geothermal power plant at Hellisheiði or end the day by relaxing in warm outdoor swimming pool.
Optional in summertime! From May 1 to October 1 we will take you to bathe in a natural warm river. The hike takes 2 ½ to 3 hours with the bath in the river.
Things to take along on a trip like this would be:
Good hiking shoes, camera, bathing suit, towels, warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants. Please remember that Icelandic weather can change suddenly without prior warning.
