A unique live for the moment drive in a 4×4 jeep or 4×4 trucks excursion to this striking place of Landmannalaugar. We will pass through Þjórsárdalur valley and cross lava fields of different eras, small rivers and volcanic craters; we will have a stop at one of the craters Ljótipollur (ugly crater)
At Landmannalaugar you can have an outside bath in a natural warm pool where many hot and cold springs have mixed together. Landmannalaugar is surrounded by colourful rhyolite mountains due to centuries of volcanic activity in the area and is indescribably beautiful. This place is ideal for hiking. Next our tour travels through the rough mountain tracks at the foot of Mount Hekla, one of the most famous volcanoes in Iceland. Here, you will see a landscape shaped by centuries of volcanic activity; Hekla has erupted on average every 7-10 years in the 20th century, the last one in the year 2000.
From there we continue to our hotel near the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Accommodation in private facilities.
2nd day
We will start our tour to south east cost with a stop in national park Skaftafell taking a hike to the glacier tong Svínafellsjökull after the hike we will continue the tour to south east of Iceland along the beautiful south shore of Iceland to the magical glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón, and Skaftafell National Park. On our way we pass, Öræfajökull glacier which has the highest peak of the island, Hvannadalshnjúkur (2111m). In summer we can take a boat tour on the glacier lagoon. You will see many amazing blocks of ice that have broken off Europe’s biggest glacier, Vatnajökull, and are drifting slowly towards the ocean which is not far away.
